I just failed at three attempts to make you a video. It's the thing to do these days, the video on the blog. I refuse to call it a vlog, however. I hate that word. I barely tolerate the word blog, but vlog? Nope. Can't do it. Maybe if I make one I will call it a viary or a vournal or, hey---a video! I like the word video. It's got a great 80s ring to it. Or perhaps I will call it a film, because I'm artistic like that.
On my video/film I was showing off my new glasses. They replaced my old pair with Transitions Lenses. At the time, I was very excited about Transitions Lenses, but they didn't really work for me. The actual transition of those glasses wasn't so much from clear to tinted lenses, as much as a transformation from decent looking glasses to extremely dorky glasses. Other people (my dear dad included) are rocking the Transitions Lenses, but sadly I could not. Life is much better now with good, old-fashioned plastic lenses that make me squint and get a piercing headache in sunlight.
Speaking of sunlight, I have some exciting news to share! Despite what the groundhog predicted, I can assure you that spring is just around the corner. Why? Because the other day as I was retrieving clothes from Max's drawers for him to wear to school, I grabbed a pair of jeans with a hole in the knee. I put it back and grabbed another, and guess what? That pair had a hole in the knee as well. I traded it for a third pair and, again, found a hole in the knee. I was just about to growl, when I realized what this all meant. These are the pants that were purchased in early September and they are wearing out! Every year, just as I'm on the verge of replacing all the hole-y jeans, I realize that it's not worth it because the kids are ready to wear shorts. Glory, glory hallelujah! I might make it after all! As it stands, Max only has one more pairs of jeans without holes. I figure it should only be a few more weeks before the last pair gives up the threadbare ghost and ushers in a new season.
Thanks for checking in if you're still checking in. And happy almost-spring!

Cute glasses, I love the shape! Happy almost spring to you!
I love your glasses! They are very you. As for spring, I also can confirm that it is on the way. We have evidence of the same signs at our house. I never thought I would be so happy to see those holes!
Love the glasses. Its good to hear from you again!
I have FOUR boys. And FOUR boys= a lot of holey jeans. I am always wondering if I can live with jeans that have a hole in the knees but are still practically brand new....or will the teachers at school think my children homeless orphans who dumpster dive for clothing? I've been pondering this for years.
I really don't like transition lenses either! I don't wear glasses, but I almost feel bad when I see people wearing them ... like they just don't get how dorky they look! Then again, people probably think that about me and any number of fashion faux pas I make as they tilt their head and sigh with pity as I pass by.
Vlog- ugh. Finally something worse than "tweeting."
I have the same weather predicting system. And you're right-- it never fails!
Yay for glasses. I'm a wearer as well.
I always love your posts, Tiffany. You make me laugh.
Still checking in and laughing at your humor. The holes really are a sign of warmer weather.
Love the glasses! Love the girl! Love the Spring prediction! But, I'm confused, I was sure, in talking about Holy jeans, that there would be a mention of the angel-wings-on-the-butt-jeans we saw at Disneyland! What jeans could possibly be holier?
Sorry, JMGJ was actually me.
So sad I didn't get to see a vlog today. I'm sure it would have been so inspiring.
I know what you mean about the word vlog... it sounds like and std. truly it does. :D
You look so much like your boys in that photo!
My boys' pants have the exact same problem. Every year, February, patch patch patch.....
Came across your blog and loved reading it. Great new glasses---reminds me I need to get new ones. Enjoyed your 100 things about you meme.
Cute glasses! You made me laugh about your boys jeans. My kids jeans are not only getting holes in them, they are turning into floods, and they have little frayed edges on the bottom of the legs.Do you ever type things, and you read it back and it doesn't sound like it is making any sense, and you just don't know if you can spell anymore? I think being so busy with kids has put me out of touch with my brain. I need to go back to school. Anyways, Good Stuff!
By the way....Dan is Kelly Bergstrom! I don't know why I'm signed into his account...again, the brain thing.
I'm still a faithful reader. And making videos is fun, but I always feel dorky.
I just became aware of another blessing of being a grandma - a really senior grandma - not one who married at 12 and could pass for her daughter's sister. I'm not into 'red hats' if that's somehow a declaration of freedom, but I can confidently say that I really don't care if transition lenses are dorky. Anything that will prolong my sight is 'in' with me. It is kind of liberating, I guess, to realize that.
Love your blonde locks, Tiff. That says more than holey jeans about a change in the seasons. ;) It's so good to hear from you again.
Confession, I have never watched a vlog. All those bloggers who are doing them exclusively just get scrolled through on my reader. But I also love my transition lenses so maybe I am not the one to ask :) But I do have a plain pair of glasses/lenses for date nights and other events (outdoor family pictures) where I want them to be clear the whole time. I hope that holey jeans means the same thing in my part of the world, because I found my first holey jeans this week and I could really really use some sunshine about now!
