PERFECT song title/album for this post. nice job. and so...sticking it in rice helped?

Yes! It sat in rice for three days and slowly came back to life.

hooray!! I'm still sad that trick didn't work for me. Or more correctly, as long as the ipod is plugged in, it works. Unplugged - nada.
And I agree with Michele - perfect choice of song title/album for the resurrection.

hee hee. based on the picture -- i imagined your ipod sitting in an old bowl of fried rice -- or rice-a-roni. The light finally turned on and I "got it"

Nice save. Tried this with mine and it worked for three days then died again. Hopefully your resurrection is complete.

At least it wasn't a toilet that it fell into.

How did you know to do the rice thing?

I learn something new from you everyday! - Rice - really? Does it work for other electronic devices or is rice partial to ipods?

I have never heard of such a thing! I had to laugh though, because a few weeks ago, we were at a lake with some friends, and while my girlfriend and I were busy talking, my husband noticed a little girl just off the dock drowning. I looked up to see him charging through the water toward the dock, pull all the electronic devices out of his pockets in a flash, and dive back into the water, carrying the little girl back up to shore. It made me laugh that in the chaos of the moment, he actually had the thought to unload his pockets! However, he saved us about $500 dollars!
